Blunkett wants to fast-track extraditions

Home Secretary David Blunkett will push for the introduction of EU-wide arrest warrants for terrorist suspects at a meeting of European home affairs ministers in Brussels tomorrow.

The warrants are a key element in a proposed fast-track extradition scheme for suspected terrorists and gangsters which would allow them to be sent to the country seeking them within days of their arrest.
