Man charged with anti-Muslim murder

A 42-year-old American has been charged with murdering an Indian immigrant after going on a rampage following last week’s attacks against the United States.

Frank Roque allegedly shot Balbir Singh Sodhi dead because he thought he was an Arab.

Sodhi was killed in a drive-by shooting on Saturday outside the petrol station he operated in Mesa, Arizona.

The killer then drove 10 miles to a second petrol station and fired several shots at a Lebanese-American clerk before opening fire on the home of a family of Afghan descent.

Police said Roque shouted that he was a patriot as he was arrested.
