Harry Potter film 'is four hours long' before editing

Press reports say the unedited Harry Potter film is four hours long.

Warner Brothers are said to have ordered director Chris Columbus to cut the movie to half that length.

The £100m film is due to have its world premiere in London on November 4.

Robbie Coltrane, who plays Harry's friend Hagrid, said he doesn't envy Columbus' task of editing Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.

He said: "Children know every single thing about this book. They're going to ask, 'What happened to the bit where Mrs Whatsername does so and so?'"
