EU Ministers express support for US

EU Finance Ministers have issued a statement expressing deep grief at the unprecedented and tragic events that occurred yesterday.

The statement says they stand ready to provide, in close co-operation with the United States, all support that might be needed.

The Finance Ministers say all necessary measures will be taken to ensure the proper functioning of markets and the stability of the financial system.
