Peres willing to talk to Arafat

Israeli Foreign Minister Shimon Peres has signalled his willingness to restart peace talks with Palestinian President Yasser Arafat if there is a complete halt to all Palestinian violence.

The move follows a meeting between Mr Peres and Irish Foreign Minister Brian Cowen in Jerusalem last night.
