Wanted murderer kills self in shoot-out

A former security guard wanted for murdering five people in a shooting spree over the weekend killed himself today during a shoot-out with US police.

20-year-old Joseph Ferguson shot himself after a violent gun battle with police about five miles from the centre of Sacramento, California.

A police officer and a bystander were also injured during the gunfight.

Mr Ferguson, who was fired from his security job last week, shot five of his former colleagues on Saturday night.

Police found an AK-47 assault rifle and a shotgun near their bodies.
