Death toll from South African fire rises to 23

The death toll from a fire in South Africa’s Kruger National Park has risen to 23 after three people died with severe burns overnight.

The fire broke out on Tuesday afternoon and was fanned by strong winds.

Most of those killed were women from neighbouring villages who were hired to cut grass in the park.

Four park rangers were also killed.
