Three hurt in Jerusalem blasts

Three people have been injured in two simultaneous explosions in Jerusalem today.

One woman was hurt in an apparent car bomb in the north Jerusalem neighbourhood of French Hill, Israeli police spokesman Shmuel Ben-Ruby said, and two others were injured in a second explosion in the south Jerusalem district of Gilo.

The two explosions occurred at virtually the same time, he added.

No one immediately claimed responsibility. However, militant Islamic groups have carried out bomb attacks against Israeli targets throughout the 11 months of Middle East violence.

More than 600 Palestinians and 160 Israelis have been killed in the violence.
