Fugitive Soltys captured
Fugitive Nikolay Soltys, a Ukrainian immigrant who police believe murdered six family members, was caught near his mother’s California home today after he evaded capture for 10 days.
The 27-year-old was found hiding under a desk in his mother’s back garden in Sacramento, said Sheriff Lou Blanas .
Soltys was the subject of a nationwide manhunt and was on the FBI’s top 10 Most Wanted list.
He is believed to have slashed the throats of his pregnant wife, three-year-old son and four other relatives.
More than a dozen of his relatives had remained under police protection for the past week.
