Israel has agreed to withdraw its troops from the Palestinian town of Beit Jalla under a ceasefire deal brokered by the European Union.

Israeli troops invaded the village yesterday morning and announced their intention to stay until Palestinians halt attacks on the nearby Jewish settlement of Gilo.
