Three Palestinians killed in heavy fighting

Three Palestinians have been killed in heavy fighting in the Middle East.

In Gaza, one Palestinian was killed when Israeli tanks entered Palestinian territory. A second was killed near a West Bank settlement when shots were fired at a car. The third died when Israeli troops opened fire on a farm.

Large-calibre machine gunfire hit the Israeli neighbourhood of Gilo when Palestinians attacked Jewish settlements from the West Bank town Beit Jala.
