Police drop Hamilton sex investigation

British police have scrapped their sexual assault investigation against former Minister Neil Hamilton and his wife Christine.

The couple recently produced documented evidence that they were 13 miles away from the scene of the alleged assault at the time it took place.

A Scotland Yard spokesman said: "Following a thorough investigation, the Metropolitan Police has found no evidence to support the allegations made against Mr and Mrs Hamilton.

"Officers are satisfied there is nothing to link the Hamiltons to this case and they have been released from their bail conditions."

Police added that enquiries would continue into other aspects relating to Nadine Milroy-Sloan’s allegations.

A man in his 60s remains on bail in connection with the case.

Nadine Milroy-Sloan’s publicist Max Clifford said: "Nadine is devastated and stands by everything she told police. All she wanted was justice."
