Six killed in French hot-air ballon accident

Six people have died after their hot-air balloon hit a power line and burst into flames in eastern France this morning.

The balloon had begun its descent near the Alpine town of Clery when it collided with the 20,000-volt power line.

The resulting fire ignited gas tanks inside the balloon and caused a mid-air explosion.

One of those killed is believed to be a child.
