Missing Danielle's uncle remanded in custody

The uncle of Danielle Jones has been remanded in custody after appearing in court on sex offence charges.

Stuart Campbell, from Grays, Essex, UK, appeared at Britain's Chelmsford Crown Court for a preliminary hearing.

He is charged with taking indecent photographs of a child and indecent assault.

Campbell, 43, a self-employed builder spoke only to confirm his name.

The case was adjourned for a plea and directions hearing on November 5.

British police have stressed the alleged offences are not related to the disappearance of his niece.

Danielle went missing after leaving her home in East Tilbury to catch the bus to school on June 18.

Campbell is due to appear before magistrates in Harlow in October on two drugs charges.
