At least 12 dead, 35 hurt in Turkish bus crash
At least 12 people have died in a bus crash in eastern Turkey.
The governor of Erzurum says the bus swerved off the road to avoid a car overtaking in the opposite direction
The bus careered off a steep slope at the edge of the road and overturned, killing eight people instantly, said Derya Kadioglu.
He said four more people died in a nearby hospital where they were taken for treatment, while another eight crash victims are in a critical condition.
There are fears the death toll could rise.
Erzurum is some 550 miles east of the capital Ankara.
