The anti-apartheid campaigner and journalist Donald Woods has died.

Mr Woods died in Britain, where he and his family had fled from the apartheid regime in 1977.

Woods’ story was immortalised in the award-winning film Cry Freedom.

Woods had been battling against heart and lung cancer.

He was 67.
