Paris bank robbers escape with 50,000 francs
Armed robbers are on the run in north of Paris today after they held up a bank and escaped with about 50,000 francs.
One customer was slightly injured in the robbery. The two men, wearing motorcycle helmets, burst into the Caisse d’Epargne bank in the Domont area of Paris at about 9.30am local time.
The men threatened employees and struck one customer with a gun, before escaping on a motorcycle.
On Thursday, the Caisse d’Epargne closed nearly 100 Paris branches as unions took strike action demanding safer working conditions.
Another hold-up in Paris last weekend left three people dead and seven injured.
A 27-year-old man has been arrested in connection with that raid.
