Danielle murder suspect believed to be uncle

The man arrested in connection with the murder of Danielle Jones is understood to be 43-year-old builder Stuart Campbell.

Mr Campbell, from Grays, Essex, is reported to be Danielle's uncle.

He was originally arrested on suspicion of abduction and released on police bail although he denied any involvement in her disappearance.

He was detained this morning and will be questioned at Harlow police station.

The arrest came a day after police hunting for the 15-year-old began a fingertip search of a building site near her home.

Specialist search teams started sifting through rubble and demolishing house foundations at the site in Grays after receiving "significant" new information.

A dozen policemen in boiler suits and hard hats spent the day carrying out a "meticulous and painstaking" search at the one-acre site in Connaught Avenue, within a mile of the last unconfirmed sighting of Danielle, who disappeared on June 18.

Danielle went missing after leaving her home in Coronation Avenue, East Tilbury to catch the bus to school.
