About 10 people have been taken hostage during a bank holdup in a suburb north of Paris.

At least one man wearing a mask was seen at the Caisse d'Epargne bank in a shopping center in Cergy-Pontoise, say regional police.

Those held inside are believed to be both customers and employees.

The Trois Fontaines shopping center was evacuated, and more than 40 police are at the scene, authorities said.

No further details are available at the moment.
