The operation to raise the sunken nuclear submarine Kursk is approaching the challenging phase of cutting the badly damaged bow section from the rest of the ship.

Divers are tomorrow to begin installing anchors that will hold the cutting chain that is to saw off the Kursk’s bow, said Navy spokesman Captain Igor Dygalo.
