British police investigate drive-by shooting death
British police are conducting house to house inquiries after a man died following a drive-by shooting.
Officers were called to Rossington Street at the junction with Northwold Road, in Clapton, east London, at 6.12pm on Sunday.
A man found lying in the street was taken to nearby Homerton Hospital by ambulance where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The victim, a 28-year-old local man, had been sitting on a wall when three shots were fired from a car as it drove past.
The car then did a U-turn and sped off towards Upper Clapton Road.
A Scotland Yard spokesman said the man's next of kin had been informed but he had not yet been formally identified.
A post-mortem examination will be held today.
