300 die in Moscow summer drownings

More than 300 people have drowned in Moscow this summer, according to official figures.

Last month alone, 263 people drowned in the city's ponds and rivers - the most drownings in any July on record, said Yelena Gribkova of the Moscow Rescue Service. Another 44 drowned in June, she said.
