British woman crushed by quake landslide

A British woman was crushed to death by a landslide after an earthquake in northern Italy, rescue services confirmed today.

The landslide was triggered by the earthquake at Gargazzone, between Bolzano and Merano, at the foot of the Italian Alps.

Another woman died of a heart attack shortly after yesterday’s earthquake, which measured 5.2 on the Richter Scale.

The British woman was believed to be of Indian origin.
