Concorde lands safely after test flight

A British Airways’ Concorde complete a successful test flight today when it touched down at an Oxfordshire airfield after a three hour 20 minute flight out over the Atlantic.

BA’s chief Concorde pilot Captain Mike Bannister, 52, had taken the supersonic aircraft on a flight to test the modifications made following last year’s tragic Air France Concorde crash which claimed 113 lives.

Huge crowds had watched Concorde take off from Heathrow at 2.20pm and there were more enthusiasts waiting in the rain at RAF Brize Norton to see her arrive at around 5.40pm.
