Maoist rebels kill senior Nepalese policeman
Maoist rebels in Nepal shot to death the most senior police officer to be killed in five years of guerrilla warfare, officials said today.
The rebels fired on a patrolling police vehicle as Parmeswor Sijapati, a senior superintendent of police, was travelling through a dense jungle near the town of Ghore, about 190 miles west of the capital, Katmandu.
