Five people were killed and three seriously injured when their car collided with a lorry and burst into flames in eastern Germany, police said today.

Five people were killed and three seriously injured when their car collided with a lorry and burst into flames in eastern Germany, police said today.

The victims of the accident near the German town of Merseburg, 120 miles south west of Berling, were all French.
