Young rape and murder accused saved from lynch mob

Police in Mexico today rescued a 13-year-old boy accused of raping and killing a five-year-old girl after a mob pulled him from his home and tried to burn him alive.

The boy is alleged to have kidnapped and raped the girl as she walked to school in the largely Indian village of San Juan del Bosque, and later hacked her to death with a machete.
