Boy of 15 charged with attempted rape

A 15-year-old youth has been charged with attempted rape.

The British teenager is in police custody after his arrest yesterday in connection with an alleged attack on a married mother-of-two in Darlington, County Durham, on Bank Holiday Monday, May 7.

The youngster, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is due to appear before Newton Aycliffe magistrates tomorrow.

Inspector Colin Nixon, of Durham Police, says: "A 15-year-old Darlington youth is in custody and has been charged with attempted rape."
