Runaway 'Romeo and Juliet' back home
A runaway "Romeo and Juliet" have turned up safe and well at home.
14-year-old Brian Hopps and his 13-year-old girlfriend Emma Ellison had been missing from home since Thursday and police were becoming worried for their safety.
The pair, both from Bishop Auckland, County Durham, were believed to have travelled by train to Saltburn.
They turned up this evening, in time for tea.
A Durham Police spokesman says: "They are both fit and well now and are back with their respective families.
"They had been over in the Saltburn area for a couple of days. It would seem that they sold a ring to obtain food and the train fare back to Bishop Auckland.
"They are back home, albeit a bit hungry and scruffy for their experience."
A police welfare officer is with the families trying to establish their motive for running away.
