Avalanche kills two, injures three
Two people were killed and three others were injured today during an avalanche in the French Alps, mountain police said.
The avalanche struck above the village of Saint-Christophe-en-Oisans in the eastern region of Isere.
The snowslide started at an altitude of about 10,230ft, sweeping down the mountain to a route where people were hiking.
The victims were taken by helicopter to a hospital in the city of Grenoble.
Rescue teams continued to search the region to make sure there were no other victims.
