United Nations secretary general Kofi Annan’s quest for a second term at the top of the organisation today got the backing of British Prime Minister Tony Blair.

United Nations secretary general Kofi Annan’s quest for a second term at the top of the organisation today got the backing of British Prime Minister Tony Blair.

Mr Annan met Mr Blair at Downing Street, where Mr Blair told him he was delighted that he was prepared to stand for a second term, and ‘‘totally endorsed’’ his candidature.
