Lara Croft leaps to top of movie charts

Lara Croft has battled her opponents into submission by coming top of the American box-office charts.

The film version of the video game Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, which stars Angelina Jolie as the aristocratic British archaeologist, was the most watched film in America this weekend, with cinema-goers handing over £34.2m.
