Campaigners hail Kyoto decision

Environmental campaigners have welcomed the European Union's decision to press ahead with implementation of the Kyoto protocol on global warming.

In spite of George W Bush's rejection of the protocol, EU leaders say they are determined to meet their own commitments under it.
