Italian activists turned back at Slovene border
Italian anti-globalisation activists have been banned from entering Slovenia for protests during the meeting between George W Bush and Vladimir Putin.
A bus carrying about 40 members of Ya Basta was stopped after crossing the Italian side of the border with Slovenia.
Slovene officials ordered it to turn back.
When some of the activists tried to leave the bus and continue on foot, border police used force to get them back into the bus.
An independent radio station, Radio Student, said police beat three of the activists with batons inside the bus.
