Strike threatens over fuel price hike

Zimbabwe’s main union federation yesterday threatened to shut down the economy with a national strike if the Government does not back down on massive fuel price increases.

The Government increased the price of petrol by 72% yesterday, raising the spectre of civil unrest that has been triggered by other price hikes amid Zimbabwe’s economic crisis.
