US woman drowns in office lift

A woman drowned in an office lift and thousands were forced from their homes as torrential rain swamped Houston and south east Texas.

The woman was found in a lift that lost power and went to a basement level where it became caught in deep water.

Three deaths have been blamed on the storms and floods from the remnants of Tropical Storm Allison.
