£2bn tobacco verdict set to trigger flood of lawsuits

The $3bn (£2bn) payout awarded to cancer victim Richard Boeken against the Philip Morris tobacco company is expected to prompt a flood of similar claims, US legal experts said.

The Philip Morris decision, however, will probably be tied up in appeals far longer than the one year doctors have given Boeken to live.
