Hurricane threatens Mexican coast

The first eastern Pacific hurricane of the season gained force off Mexico’s southern coast today, and could cause damage to land.

Hurricane Adolph was about 180 miles from the resort of Zihuatenejo with sustained winds of almost 145 mph.
