Playmate award quashed

A California judge has thrown out a US bankruptcy court ruling that gave former Playboy Playmate Anna Nicole Smith $475m (£315m) from the estate of her late husband, oil tycoon J Howard Marshal II.

US District Court Judge David O Carter said he would conduct a full review of the case and called his ruling neither a victory nor a defeat for either side.
