Mitchell 'heartened' by Israeli peace response

Former American Senator George Mitchell today said he was heartened by the Israeli response to a Middle East peace plan submitted by a group he headed earlier this week.

Mr Mitchell was speaking as he arrived in Dublin for talks with Taoiseach Bertie Ahern.
