Australian Second World War veterans have welcomed a decision by their government to compensate soldiers who were imprisoned by Japan.

Australian Second World War veterans have welcomed a decision by their government to compensate soldiers who were imprisoned by Japan.

The government is to give each prisoner of war AUS$25,000.
