Viewers shocked as Mel B swears on children's TV

Spice Girl Mel B is under fire from family campaigners after reportedly yelling out a swear word on children's TV.

The singer shocked viewers of the BBC's Live and Kicking programme on Saturday morning by shouting out "w****r" during a game on the show.

Host Trey Farley initially ignored the outburst but later apologised after furious parents complained to the BBC.

A BBC spokesman said: "Presenter Trey was as surprised as anyone and he has apologised. We will be looking into the matter."

Family Focus campaigner Dr Adrian Rogers said: "Mel B should go back on TV and apologise. Parents should be able to leave their children to watch shows like this without worrying."

During the game show Popaholics, Trey introduced guests and said of rap DJ Pied Piper: "If Sarah's team wins I'm sure he'll thank her but if I judge she loses, he'll call me a ..."

He broke off but Mel B completed the sentence with the swear word.
