Rare tortoises stolen from safari park

Safari park staff in Worcestershire have appealed for information after thieves snatched two rare tortoises.

The animals were taken from a glass cage during visitor hours at West Midlands Safari Park, near Bewdley.

Head warden Bob Lawrence said the thieves used air vents in the cage to steal the banana-coloured tortoises.

The five-year-old creatures, worth £400 each, need specialist care in a controlled environment, Mr Lawrence said.
