Palestinian policemen killed in shootout

Five Palestinian policemen were killed in a shootout with Israeli troops in the West Bank town of Beitunia today, Palestinian security officials said.

The Israeli army said soldiers opened fire on a group they identified as ‘‘suspicious figures’’.
