Comedian's son found dead in Thai hotel

The son of comedian Bob Monkhouse has been found dead in Thailand, a Foreign Office spokesman said today.

The body of Simon Monkhouse, 46, was found in Bangkok on April 14 but details of his death were only released today, a spokesman said.

No further details were released but the death is not being treated as suspicious by Thai authorities, raising fears that it could be suicide.

Mr Monkhouse, from Lambeth, south London, was holidaying alone in Bangkok when his body was found in a hotel.

Monkhouse’s agent Paul Pritchard said: ‘‘The family is stunned. It’s a huge shock.’’
