40 Hurt in Manila mall blast
At least 40 people have been injured in an explosion at a Manila shopping mall.
Robbers snatched jewellery and watches from a then exploded a grenade as they escaped.
Philippines police say the robbers also shot and wounded a mall guard.
At least one robber was arrested, according to radio station DZBB.
The robbers hurled the grenade at the ground floor of the Farmer's Plaza in Quezon City in metropolitan Manila after breaking into a jewellery store in the mall with guns and hammers, which they used to smash glass display cases.
Authorities immediately closed the four-story mall to the public after the robbery and explosion.
Police say the robbers may be the same group that broke into a jewellery store and exploded a grenade at the Ever Gotesco Grand Central mall in suburban Caloocan City, also in metropolitan Manila, last week, injuring 37 people.
