China accuses Bush of threatening world peace

China has accused George W Bush of threatening global peace with his missile defence plans.

The country's state-run press says the President's plans would ignite an arms race and destroy disarmament efforts. China fears that missile defences could blunt the deterrent effect of its small nuclear arsenal.
