Man accused of cannibalism faces psychiatric tests
A South African alleged cannibal has been remanded in custody while he undergoes psychiatric tests.
Patrick Msane was found with a dismembered body at his home on KwaZulu-Natal's south coast, police claim.
The body had been cooked in a three-legged pot.
Msane appeared in Umbumbulu magistrates' court and has been remanded to Westville Prison, near Durban.
Police still don't know the identity of Msane's alleged victim. Authorities are unsure whether he even killed the victim.
The victim's head had been beaten beyond recognition. The intestines were in a plastic container.
Officers also found bones at the house which may have been part of the victim's arms and legs, according to reports.
