A British woman killed when an explosion went off in her car in Athens was carrying a bomb, according to police.

Authorities in Athens have identified the woman as 49-year-old Susan-Mary Arris, born in London. Police said a preliminary investigation indicated she had been close friends with a Greek family accused of involvement in organised crime.
