Silver haul worth £500m found off Korean coast
An old Chinese ship carrying 600 tons of silver which sank during the Sino-Japanese war more than a century ago has been found off South Korea’s west coast.
Salvagers Gold Ship said it found the boat from China’s Ching dynasty (1644-1912) stuck in the muddy sea bed 66 feet under water, off Uldo in the Yellow Sea, last Tuesday.
